Areas de producción de vino.

Historia.

Tipos y uvas del vino Monferrato.

El vino Monferrato Bianco, en su versione Seco, hecho al 100% de variedades de uva tal como: Cortese, Favorita, Chardonnay, Sauvignon, Muller Thurgau y otras uvas de bayas blancas no aromáticas producidas a partir de vides cultivadas en la región del Piamonte; el grado alcohólico tiene que ser superior o igual al 10% Vol; su color es amarillo pajizo, intenso, olor agradable y sabor fresco. El Monferrato Casalese Cortese, es un vino blanco seco, con, al menos un 85% de variedad de uva Cortese, el resto, como máximo el 15%, lleva variedades de uva blanca aptas para el cultivo en la región del Piamonte; el grado alcohólico debe de ser igual o superior a 10.50% Vol. Las características más destacadas son su color amarillo pajizo pálido que a veces tiende a verdoso, característico, delicado, muy tenue pero persistente y sabor seco, armonioso, salado y agradablemente amargo. El Monferrato Chiaretto (o Ciaret) es un vino rosado seco, que debe de contener, al menos, un 85% de las variedades de uva Barbera, Bonarda Nera, Cabernet Franc, Cabernet Sauvignon, Dolcetto, Freisa, Grignolino, Pinot Nero y Nebbiolo, solos o juntos y un máximo del 15% de bayas negras aptas para el cultivo en la región del Piamonte; su grado alcohólico debe ser superior a 10.50% vol.; presenta un color rosado o rojo rubí claro. El vino Monferrato Rosso, es un vino tinto seco que debe de hacerse al 100% de alguna de estas variedades de uva: Barbera, Nebbiolo, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot y Pinot Nero; su grado alcohólico como mínimo 11% vol.; presenta un color rojo, olor agradable y sabor fresco, seco. El vino tinto Monferrato Rosso Novello, es vino seco, hecho al 100% de con alguna de estas variedades: Barbera, Nebbiolo, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot y Pinot Nero; la graduación es, al menos, de 11º; este su color es rojo rubí con matices violáceos, afrutado, olor persistente.
