Español [ ES ] Un grupo de siete amigos se reunió en 1998 para emprender un proyecto vitivinícola en las Islas Canarias para la producción de vinos de garaje. Bodegas Buten, adscrita a la denominación de origen Tacoronte-Acentejo, en Tenerife, produce tan sólo dos vinos: Cráter y Magma de Cráter, con las variedades autóctonas Listan Negro y Negramoll. Auténticas desconocidas, estas variedades se cultivan en suelos de arcilla volcánica a 400 metros sobre el nivel del mar presididas por el Teide. Los suelos, negros y volcánicos, imprimen toda la raza y el carácter a los vinos, que se muestran "especiales" y distintos del resto de vinos que hayamos podido degustar. Se producen tan sólo 20.000 botellas de Cráter; un vino singular y auténtico que no les dejará indiferente ante una gama sápida y aromática que les hará sentirse extraños e incómodos. Un vino de puro volcán, de colores granates y movimiento ligero que demuestran su poca concentración. Sólo acercando la pituitaria, explotan dosis de pólvora, alcanfor, regaliz negra, ciruelas en licor, pimienta negra y especias, todo ello recogido bajo una curiosa nota salina y mineral de piedra granítica. Textura fresca, clásica y delgada definen a la perfección la boca. Sensaciones de aceituna negra, metal frío, hierro, sangre, óxido y ceniza negra son las que encontramos. El vino se expande perfectamente en la boca, con bastante fluidez, dejando un gusto finalmente fresco, con sensaciones de grano de madera, ceniza negra y una mínima astringencia. Pasadas unas horas el vino comienza a reducirse y comienzan a emanar notas vegetales de rapa y el olor del óxido de la clásica pila cuadrada. Debido a un filtrado ligero es posible que encuentren sales de tartrato depositadas en la botella o en el tapón. Envejecido durante 6 meses en barricas de roble francés y americano, y posteriormente en botella durante otros 24 meses. |
