Cuatro generaciones de hombres enamorados de la viña.
Somos la cuarta generación de hombres enamorados de la viña. De las 4 hectáreas que anteriormente pertenecían al bisabuelo en el área de Cerretta , una de las mejores menciones de las colinas de Barolo, la superficie del viñedo se ha cuadriplicado gradualmente, hasta llegar a contar con 10 hectáreas en Serralunga d'Alba y 9 en Cigliè, en Alta Langa. El bisabuelo Francesco y el abuelo Alberto se ocuparon principalmente del cuidado del viñedo y la venta de las uvas, un comercio predominante en el área en ese momento, vendiéndolo a productores pero también a particulares, y haciendo muy pocas cantidades para su propio consumo y para algunos amigos. Ettore Germano, que murió en 2005, fundador de la marca, tuvo la feliz intuición gracias también a mi mujer Rosanna, de expandir el negocio desde la mera viticultura a la producción de vino. La DOC.

Origen.
La variedad barbera tiene su origen las colinas de Monferratto, en el Piamonte central, donde ya era conocida en el siglo XIII. En la Catedral de Casale Monferrato, se conservan documentos de esa época que detallan el contrato del arriendo de las viñas plantadas con la uva "de bonis vitibus barbexinis", también conocida como barbera. Vinos.
Cuando son jóvenes, los vinos ofrecen un aroma muy intenso, fresco y a mora. Lejos de las tradicionales interpretaciones vivaces y sencillas de esta variedad, Barbera della Madre, procedente del excelente cru de Alba, recuerda con su profundo color púrpura este perfil clásico, pero sus tonalidades rubí y granate nos revelan también un vino con personalidad. En nariz los aromas de frutos rojos y mermelada se combinan con profundas notas de sotobosque y vainilla. En boca confirma un maravilloso equilibrio entre sus aromas frescos, jóvenes y apetecibles, con otros más evolucionados, plenos y austeros. La extraña armonía entre su complejidad y accesibilidad se debe a la excelente crianza en barricas, donde este Barbera envejece por un total de cerca de 20 meses.
