Historia.
Cîroc surgió en el mercado en el año 2003 como un vodka premium y moderno que, a diferencia de los clásicos destilados de granos, maíz o papas con los que se elabora el vodka tradicional, utilizaba uvas como base. Su fundador, Jean-Sebastien Robicquet proviene de una familia cuyo linaje se remonta al s. XVII en la reconocida región vitivinícola de Burdeos en Francia. Robicquet estudió enología antes de interesarse en los destilados y continuar con la tarea de ser el maestro destilero de la marca. El proceso de elaboración del Cîroc tiene origen en el mismo proceso de elaboración del vino. De la región de altura de Gaillac se cosecha la uva mauzac blanc y de la región de Cognac se cosecha ugni blanc. Ambas son procesadas y convertidas en un vino que luego será destilado cuatro veces en destiladores de columna antes de pasar a la quinta y última destilación en una tradicional olla de cobre en la histórica Distillerie de Maison Villevert- Chevanceaux ubicada en el sur francés.
